Sutherland Shire Historical Society was formed in 1966 as residents in the post-war years became conscious of the Sutherland Shire’s rapid change from a rural outpost to a built-up suburb of Sydney. It became a priority to record the changes, thus preserving our history, and to ensure knowledge of our history was available to the local community.
We collect, preserve and disseminate local history in the following ways:
